Gov't sharply increases next year's budget share for film industry

The government's budget for the film industry has been raised substantially.

According to the Culture Ministry the budget for next year has been set at 149-point-8 billion won slightly over 100 million U.S. dollars which is an 80 percent jump from this year.

The Korean film industry has been in the doldrums since the COVID-19 pandemic and the ministry has pledged to better support Korean movie makers who are a pivotal part of the K-content wave.
