Italian fashion icon Giorgio Armani passed away at the age of 91 on Thursday, with reports saying he died peacefully at his home in Milan, following a long illness.
Dubbed the "King of the Blazer," he was known for his modern Italian style, characterized by elegance and simplicity, having pioneered the concept of soft power dressing, which features more fluid, longer-cut suit jackets and loosely pleated trousers.
Tributes poured in from across the fashion world and beyond, including Donatella Versace, who called him a "giant," and others lauded his legacy.
Armani remained actively involved in his brand and design work until his final days.
An area for the public to express condolences will be set up over the weekend in Milan.
