S. Korea's National Assembly Speaker meets with China's top legislator to boost ties

National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik met with China's top legislator, Zhao Leji, in Beijing on Thursday to discuss strengthening diplomatic ties.

Speaker Woo emphasized South Korea's commitment to improving relations by his participation in the recent Victory Day ceremony, and urged President Xi Jinping to attend the APEC Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju.

He also addressed the sensitive issue of China's installations in the disputed Yellow Sea areas, calling for a careful handling of the matter.

Woo concluded by requesting a more predictable business environment for Korean companies, and advocating for expanded cultural exchanges.
