Gender equality minister candidate pledges to strengthen ministry, tackle wage gap at hearing

Won Min-kyong, the second nominee for minister of gender equality and family under the Lee Jae Myung administration

faced a confirmation hearing on this Wednesday.

In her testimony today she pledged to address the gender wage gap and gender-based violence.

Won's nomination follows the withdrawal of the previous candidate Kang Sun-woo, who stepped down following rampant allegations of workplace abuse.
