As we step into September, the sticky nights are finally easing, so if you dressed for the afternoon, it might have felt a bit breezy on the way to work this morning.
However, the midday sun is still blazing, with warm, humid air continuing to flow in, making today feel hot and muggy in the afternoon.
Heat advisories remain in place for the southern regions and parts of Jeju.
So with unstable air overhead, thunderstorm clouds are popping up across the country.
Southern regions will see scattered showers with thunderstorms with 5 to 60 millimeters in the forecast, along with strong winds.
Late summer heat continues to dominate across the country.
Seoul and Chuncheon will get up to 33 degrees Celsius, and Daegu and Gwangju top out at 32 degrees this afternoon.
On and off rain stays with us through this week.
With that rain, temperatures will finally begin to ease, and next week is expected to bring more comfortable, cooler conditions.
