Many of you may have been woken up overnight by the thunder and lightning.
Heavy rain has been pounding western regions, with some areas seeing torrential downpours of up to 50 millimeters an hour.
The rain will gradually ease by this afternoon, but eastern areas may see showers linger into tonight.
Until then, central parts of Korea might see up to 80 millimeters, Jeolla-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces might get as much as 60 millimeters. Jeju will also see 5 to 40 millimeters into tomorrow morning.
So heavy rain alerts are being issued across the country.
Meanwhile, strong heat continues despite the rain in the southern provinces.
Daegu will get up to 33 degrees Celsius, Gyeongju at 34 degrees. Seoul will top out at 31 degrees this afternoon.
Another band of rain is in the forecast on Friday then the extreme heat is expected to gradually ease for many areas.
