We are heading to the end of August, but the heat isn't showing any sign of easing up.
Heatwave warnings have been in place for nearly a week straight for the southern parts of Korea.
Just yesterday, heat warnings were expanded to parts of Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do provinces.
We're also watching for rain and scattered showers.
Jeju is expected to see up to 40 millimeters of rainfall through the afternoon.
In the meantime, the capital region, Gangwon, and Chungcheongnam-do may see 5 to 40 millimeters of passing showers, and southern regions could see more than that.
Seoul will see a high of 32 degrees Celsius this afternoon, and Daejeon, Daegu, and Gyeongju will top out at 35 degrees.
Feels like temperatures will be higher with the high humidity.
This weekend also marks the Cheoseo, which traditionally signals the end of the summer heat, often called the "Cheoseo magic."
But this year, again, the sweltering heat is expected to linger even beyond Cheoseo.
