South Korea to export K-9 howitzers to Vietnam

South Korea is slated to ship its K-9 self-propelled howitzers to Vietnam.

According to defense industry sources on this Thursday a government-to-government contract was inked late last month to export twenty of these artillery weapons produced by Hanwha Aerospace to Vietnam for 2-hundred-50 million U.S. dollars.

This marks the first time for South Korean-made howitzers to enter the Southeast Asian market.

The deal with Vietnam also marks the first time South Korea has sold its weapons to a communist country.
