President Lee Jae Myung has called yet again for tangible efforts to ensure workplace safety in response to a number of tragic industrial accidents this year.
Remarks to this end were shared at a Cabinet meeting on this Tuesday during which he stressed the need to move away from what he described as a "regressive republic of industrial accidents."
Do take a listen.
"When preventable accidents are left unprevented, especially when cutting costs to save money takes someone's life, that, as I've said before, is the same as murder by willful negligence, a form of societal murder."
Earlier on Saturday the president had ordered the Labor Ministry to share potential strategies against such accidents at today's meeting.
