Wildfires swept through parts of Spain on Tuesday as the country endured its second heatwave of the summer, with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius in several regions.
In Spain's Galicia region, firefighters battled a wildfire near residential areas in the town of Ponteceso, and the nearby village of Corme Aldea was evacuated.
In southern Spain, a blaze in the town of Tarifa spread rapidly through nearby mountains, forcing the evacuation of hotels and campsites in the area.
Efforts to contain both wildfires were hindered by strong winds.
