U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said Sunday that reciprocal tariff rates are "pretty much set," leaving little room for last-minute negotiations.
Greer said trade ministers are still willing to talk, but he added the tariff rates were determined "pursuant to deals" and are based on each country's trade deficit or surplus with the U.S.
Still, he noted that President Trump may consider adjustments if other countries present meaningful concessions in the coming days.
An executive order for tariffs was signed last week, with implementation scheduled for August 7.
