In his first overseas trip as Foreign Minister Cho Hyun paid a courtesy call on Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba Tuesday morning reaffirming Seoul's commitment to expanding bilateral interactions.
The Japanese Prime Minister welcomed Cho's call urging for continued progress in bilateral ties and trilateral partnership with the U.S.
Addressing members of the media Cho for his part shared intentions to discuss the three-way cooperation upon his arrival in Washington D.C. on Wednesday local time to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He also spoke of proposing partnership in AI as the third pillar of Korea–U.S. collaboration alongside their security alliance and Free Trade Agreement.
