S. Korean chipmaker reports best-ever quarterly performance in Q2

South Korean chipmaker SK hynix has reported its best-ever quarterly performance in the second quarter thanks to surging demand for AI chips, including high-bandwidth memory chips.

According to preliminary data from the company on Thursday, its operating profit came to around 6-point-7 billion dollars, up by nearly 70 percent on-year.

Sales also jumped by over 35 percent.

Operating profits and sales both set new all-time quarterly records, breaking the previous highs in the last quarter of 2024.
