A South Korean civic group representing families of abductees held in North Korea has said it would halt sending anti-Pyongyang leaflets across the border.
In a joint press conference on Tuesday, the head of the group said he was swayed after receiving calls from the Unification Minister nominee and the Vice Minister.
While adding that he has asked other groups involved in leaflet campaigns to suspend their plans, he hopes that separated families are able to unite with their loved ones in Kaesong.
The Unification Ministry welcomed the group's response to the government's efforts to create a peaceful atmosphere on the Korean Peninsula.
