Final confirmation hearing for PM nominee fails ends due to disputes over data request

The final confirmation hearing for President Lee Jae-myung's pick for Prime Minister ended Wednesday without resuming, after clashes between rival parties.

This comes as the main opposition People Power Party walked out in the afternoon, accusing nominee Kim Min-seok of not submitting essential documents, mainly about his wealth and family.

The ruling Democratic Party hit back, saying the opposition was making politically motivated attacks.

With the PPP unlikely to agree to adopting the confirmation hearing report for Kim, the DP said it will push for a parliamentary vote to approve him by July 4.
