The mass shooting happened shortly after 10 AM local time on Tuesday at a secondary school in the southern Austrian city of Graz.

Police confirmed the suspect, a 21-year-old former student of the school, brought both a legally owned pistol and a shotgun into the school building.

While no definitive motive has been confirmed, officials are looking into reports that he may have experienced bullying while attending the school.

Austria has declared a three-day mourning period, and schools across Graz have been temporarily closed.
