South Korea has officially clinched a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking its 11th consecutive World Cup appearance.
The Taeguk Warriors achieved this milestone with a 2-0 away victory over Iraq in Basrah on Thursday local time, during their Group B match in the third round of Asian qualifiers.
With this win, South Korea will surely finish at least second in the group, securing one of the two automatic qualification spots for the World Cup.
The men's national football team will play its final qualifying match against Kuwait next Tuesday in Seoul.
