Mangjong today, summer warmth with strong UV rays

Today marks 'Mangjong,' the third of summer's seasonal terms, and true to the season, it's going to be quite warm this afternoon.

Most parts will see summer warmth sticking around through the weekend.

Also, the skies will be mostly clear nationwide, and with clean air blowing in, our air quality will be good.

With a gentle breeze, it almost feels like autumn rather than spring thanks to clear blue skies we've had lately. BUT strong sunlight will boost UV rays during the hottest parts of the day. So wear hats or carry UV umbrellas to protect yourselves.

Seoul will reach 27 degrees, Daejeon and Gwangju seeing highs of 28 degrees. At least, the humidity won't be high, so the heat will not feel overwhelming, and it'll cool down quickly once the sun sets.

It will be mostly clear across the country with afternoon summer warmth through next week, excluding Jeju, where rain is in the forecast this weekend.
