Pride flag raised to welcome visitors to Washington, D.C. for WorldPride events

Finally, in the United States, Washington, D.C. is preparing for its WorldPride 2025 event slated for Saturday, May 31.

Before raising the Pride flag to usher in the biennial event, the D.C. Mayor said, "The flag tells a story of pride, perseverance, and progress."

This marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in the U.S. capital, and the city expects up to 3 million attendees for the celebration.

A welcome concert by Shakira will be held at Nationals Park to kick off the event, which will run until the end of June.
