At least five reported killed in large explosion at China chemical plant

In China, at least five people were killed in a huge explosion at a chemical plant in eastern Shandong Province on Tuesday.

The explosion occurred at around noon at the Gaomi Youdao Chemical facility in the industrial park of Weifang city.

According to reports, 19 people were injured, while six individuals are missing.

The blast created an enormous fireball and sent thick black and orange smoke hundreds of meters into the sky.

The shockwave shattered windows nearby and was felt by residents as far as seven kilometers from the site.

More than 200 emergency workers were dispatched to the scene.
