Seoul set to raise base subway fare to 1,550 won from 1,400 won

Starting in late June the base subway fare within the Seoul metropolitan area when using a transportation card will rise to one-thousand-five-hundred-50 won or slightly above one U.S. dollar.

The current base fare for the subway stands at one-thousand-four-hundred won.

The hike in fare follows a meeting among officials of Seoul Metro and their counterparts from Gyeonggi-do Province Incheon City and the Korea Railroad Corporation.
