The Democratic Party, having officially confirmed its former leader Lee Jae-myung as its presidential nominee, is now in the process of putting together its election campaign committee.
Lee has been taking steps to emphasize unity and broaden his appeal to centrist and conservative voters since his first day as a presidential candidate.
As part of this effort, the party is set to appoint former Environment Minister Yoon Yeo-joon, a conservative strategist, to one of the top posts in the campaign.
Lee told reporters Monday that Yoon is someone he has relied on for advice.
The party's election campaign committee will officially launch on Wednesday at 2 PM.
