U.S. Treasury Secretary expresses optimism over talks with S. Korea

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday shared his optimism with regard to trade talks with South Korea.

Speaking to CNBC, Bessent stressed that negotiations with Seoul have been going "very well," adding that Washington has had very substantive negotiations with Tokyo.

The comments come after Seoul and Washington took part in the two-plus-two ministerial trade talks in the U.S. capital last week.

However, the treasury secretary did not elaborate what was discussed between the two allies.
