Bangkok celebrates Thai New Year with Songkran splash

Finally, Bangkok has officially kicked off the 2025 Songkran Festival, Thailand's traditional New Year celebration, known for major water fights.

The festival, which runs from April 13 to 16 and involves the world's biggest water fight, symbolizes renewal and cleansing. Participants engage in spirited water battles across the city during the period.

Key locations such as Silom Road, Khao San Road, and Siam Square have become epicenters of activity, and an 8% increase in foreign visitors during the celebration week is anticipated.

The festival marks the end of the dry season and the start of a new agricultural cycle.
