U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff announcements have triggered massive sell-offs across South Korea's stock market.
As of 9:02 AM on Monday, the KOSPI index stood at 2-thousand-352-point-72, down more than 4 percent from the previous session, while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ index fell by more than 3 percent.
And the KOSPI 200 futures index fell 5-point-19 percent, triggering a sell-side sidecar for the first time in eight months at 9:12 AM.
A sidecar is activated when the KOSPI 200 futures index rises or falls by 5 percent or more and stays there for at least one minute.
