Korean pianist Kim Sae-hyun has taken first place at the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition, a renowned triennial event in France.
According to the Kumho Cultural Foundation on Monday, the 17-year-old won the competition with a rendition of Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 3 in the final round of the competition this past Saturday.
Fellow Korean pianist Lee Hyo placed third.
Notably, his brother Lee Hyuk was a co-winner of the same competition in 2022.
Another past Korean winner is Lim Dong-hyek who claimed the title in 2001.
