Seoul envoy calls on N. Korea to stop sacrificing its people for Russia's war

South Korea's ambassador to the UN has urged North Korea to halt the sacrifice of its soldiers in return for Russian support to maintain its regime.

Speaking at a UN Security Council session on Wednesday Ambassador Hwang Joon-kook underscored the pain of the people of Ukraine as well as that of Russian and North Korean soldiers amid the war.

He also pointed to interviews with captured North Korean soldiers that reveal the troops were tricked into believing they were heading to Russia for training.
