Trump signs order to cut staff at VOA

U.S. government-funded broadcaster Voice of America is shutting down after 83 years in service.

The virtual shutdown follows an executive order from the Trump administration on Friday directing the U.S. Agency for Global Media which houses VOA to operate with the legally required MINIMUM staff.

Accordingly almost the entire staff of one-thousand-300 people at VOA have reportedly been placed on paid leave.
