Over the weekend, the United States launched airstrikes against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, aiming to deter attacks on international shipping routes in the Red Sea.
The Houthis have vowed to retaliate.
On Saturday local time, U.S. forces conducted airstrikes targeting sites in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
The operation aimed to destroy the Houthis' military infrastructure, specifically their missile and drone capabilities, to secure maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
The Houthi-run Health Ministry reported that the strikes resulted in at least 31 deaths and injured over 100 individuals.
The Houthis said in a televised statement on Sunday that the recent attacks were a "blatant aggression" and claimed to have launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting a U.S. aircraft carrier and vessels in retaliation, without providing evidence.
