The government has renewed its call for the immediate release of three South Korean missionaries detained in North Korea for over a decade.
The Ministry of Unification strongly condemned Pyongyang's unlawful actions on Friday and called for the immediate and unconditional release of the South Korean nationals.
This follows the recent adoption of an opinion by the UN Human Rights Council's Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which condemned their detention as unjustifiable.
Released Thursday, the opinion demands their release, compensation, and an independent investigation.
