The SPHEREx space telescope, part of NASA's mission to map the universe, is now in space, in partnership with South Korea's Space Institute.
SPHEREx was launched successfully on Tuesday from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at around 8:10 PM local time.
According to NASA, it later established successful communication with its Near Space Network in Norway.
The launch comes after several delays since late February due to rocket assessments and bad weather.
The mission will help scientists uncover how the universe formed and evolved.
