In China, the country's biggest annual political event kicked off on Tuesday, against the backdrop of heightened trade tensions with the U.S.
The "Two Sessions," which refers to annual meetings of the two key Chinese institutions: the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the National People's Congress, are closely observed by the outside world, as they offer a clue to the policy agenda for the world's second largest economy.
Much of this year's discussion, that will take place until next Tuesday -- is expected to be focused on countermeasures against Trump's tariff war and harnessing the power of artificial intelligence.
