Over 1 mil. foreign tourists visited S. Korea in January 2025, recovering to pre-COVID levels

The number of foreign tourists visiting this country has once again fully recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels.

According to data released by the Korea Tourism Organization on Friday, over 1-million people visited the country in January 2025.

This represents a 1-hundred-and-1 percent recovery from the level seen in January 2019, before the pandemic.

Most tourists came from China, with more than 3-hundred-60-thousand, followed by Japan, Taiwan, the U.S. and Hong Kong.
