Katy Perry is heading to space on an all-women Blue Origin flight

Pop star Katy Perry, known for hits like Firework, is set to embark on a space journey aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.

She will be joined by Lauren Sanchez, fiancée of Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos, CBS anchor Gayle King, a former NASA rocket scientist, a civil rights activist, and a film producer.

This mission marks the first all-women spaceflight since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova's solo journey in 1963. While an exact launch date has not been announced, the historic flight is scheduled to take place this spring.
