On the trade front.
Exports during the first twenty days of February surged on year on the back of global chip demand.
According to the Korea Customs Service on this Friday exports amounted to 35-point-3 billion U.S. dollars during this period up 16 percent on year.
Semiconductor shipments overseas soared over 22 percent while passenger vehicles and auto parts also jumped more than 40 percent and 9 percent respectively.
Given this latest performance Korea logged a trade surplus of 8-hundred million U.S. dollars.
