Seoul and Washington's top diplomats are to hold their first talks this weekend in Germany, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
It's the first one-on-one meeting between South Korean foreign minister Cho Tae-yul and his counterpart U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, since President Trump took office in January for his second term.
The talks are likely to take place on Saturday.
The officials are expected to discuss North Korean nuclear issues, trilateral cooperation with Japan, and bilateral economic cooperation.
South Korea and the U.S. are also reportedly coordinating details to hold a trilateral meeting with Japan.
