And against that backdrop main opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung called for recovery and growth as national priorities amid the ongoing political uncertainty.

Addressing the National Assembly today Lee suggested a supplementary budget of 30 trillion Korean won or around 20 billion U.S. dollars to be earmarked for economic recovery.

Separately he also proposed the introduction of a four-day workweek system claiming that reducing working hours is key to becoming an advanced technological society.
