The benchmark KOSPI surrendered 2-point-5 percent to close Monday's session at 2-thousand-4-hundred-53 while the tech-heavy Kosdaq sank 3-point-3 percent to settle at 7-hundred-3.
The Korean won also weakened against the U.S. dollar with the exchange rate ending at 1-thousand-4-hundred-67 won against the greenback.
