The number of visitors to South Korea has nearly returned back to pre-COVID-19 figures.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization on Friday, a total of 16-point-37 million tourists visited the country in 2024, which is an increase of nearly 50-percent compared to the year before.
Most of the visitors were from China, followed by Japan, Taiwan and the U.S.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the number of visitors saw a sharp decrease to 2-point-5 million in 2020, yet 2024 saw a recovery of up to 94 percent of 2019 levels.
