A Korean American official, John Noh , has been appointed to a key post at the Pentagon, and will be in charge of crafting policies toward South Korea, Japan and other East Asian countries under the Trump administration.
Announcing a list of new officials that were sworn in, the U.S. Department of Defense said Noh, is now the new deputy assistant defense secretary for East Asia.
Until recently, he served as the deputy general counsel for the U.S. House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.
