Exports for first 20 days of Jan. drop on fewer working days

Korea's exports declined during the first 20 days of January.

According to the Korea Customs Service on this Tuesday, the total value of exports during this period amounted to 31-point-6 billion U.S. dollars, down over five-percent on-year.

Pundits are linking the performance to fewer working days and believe the overall monthly performance will remain sluggish amid the extended lunar new year holiday during the final week of this month.

Prior to this month, exports expanded for 15 months in a row.
