The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, convened its Foreign Ministers' Retreat on Sunday in Langkawi, Malaysia.
The Retreat was the first major meeting under Malaysia's ASEAN chairmanship for 2025, and opened under the theme, "Inclusivity and Sustainability."
Foreign ministers from the 10 ASEAN member states attended, with East Timor's foreign minister also participating as an observer. East Timor will soon become the association's 11th member.
Key discussions focused on the ongoing crisis in Myanmar and territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
Concerns about the impact of U.S.-China rivalry on ASEAN unity were also raised.
