NATO has launched a new mission, the "Baltic Sentry," to protect critical undersea infrastructure in the Baltic Sea, amid rising concerns over potential sabotage.
This follows recent incidents involving damage to undersea cables and pipelines, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
As part of the mission, NATO countries will deploy frigates, maritime patrol aircraft, and naval drones to increase surveillance and deterrence capabilities.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated the mission aims to "deter and detect any potential threats" to undersea assets.
